Anthony Scarlati
is a fine art portrait photographer and photojournalist known for his soulful and thought-provoking images. A native of Chicago, he has spent more than twenty years working in the entertainment, sports, equine and fashion industries. His exquisite photographs have been displayed in galleries and special exhibits across the country. Published photo credits include numerous entertainment, equine and special interest publications along with fashion layouts and editorial portraits spanning across all genres of music.
There is an underlying philosophy that is apparent in each image and central to his work -- to capture and preserve, as only pictures can, the essence of a moment -- that defining thought or feeling that spans languages, cultures, species, and time. Anthony’s talent is revealed in his ability to capture the true, natural and authentic beauty of his subjects. As he was inspired by his grandfather, he listened to his calling and through patience and understanding, has been able to develop his unique talent to capture "the soul of the moment.”
Now making his home in Middle Tennessee, Anthony is currently a contributing photographer for Southern Exposure Magazine, Hills & Hamlets Magazine and Music Central Records in Nashville, TN. Recent projects include working with music artists such as Take 6, Exile Reunion Tour, Jeffrey Steele, Terry McBride, Clay Mills, SML (Selby, Mills, LeMaire), Willie Nelson, Skip Ewing and the Horse and Writer Songwriter’s Mentorship Program in Dubois, WY, along with providing photos for various media, CD and website projects. Publication credits include BMI Music World, Jazz Times, Country Music Weekly and People.com. He also had the special opportunity to enrich the lives of young artists while teaching digital photography to participants of the Kids on Stage for the Visual and Performing Arts Program at Hillsboro High School in Leipers Fork, TN.
Anthony has built a credible and intriguing portfolio. His photos are original and artistic, creative and compelling. He is available for commercial and private shoots, where his ability to create a unique experience is, in his own words, "The split second in time only I can see."
